Apex, the new fibre helmet by SUOMY was designed giving
maximum consideration to internal comfort, construction technology, reliability,
and safety for both rider and racer.
As per SUOMY tradition, APEX continues with its external sport design
while at the same time assuring the comfort that only a "top-of-the-line"
helmet can give.
Using 360 degree scientific knowledge, the APEX has been designed and
tested in wind tunnels to optimize external flow while taking serious
consideration to the internal ventilation.
State of the art technical solutions were used in the design and manufacture
of this helmet. The new materials used in construction gives the shell
a unique rigidity while maintaining considerable lightness in the overall
weight of the helmet.
1) External
aerodynamics: Specially designed ribs were added to channel the air flow
from the front to the back of the helmet. They were designed to block
disturbing aerodynamic turbulence, enhancing the internal silence of the
helmet. Furthermore, the new spoiler moves the air turbulence "break
point" behind and away from the shell.
2) Internal ventilation:
The APEX helmet assures excellent ventilation and internal comfort, thanks
to both the chin guard air intake and the upper air intake.
Chin guard air intake
and upper air intake:
The adjustable air
intake on the chin guard allows for the air conditioning of the front/lower
part of the helmet.
It can be activated in completely open or closed position by using a comfortable
and practical snap lever.
Thanks to its ergonomic design, it can be activated even while wearing
gloves.
The air intake on the upper part of the shell brings air to the front/upper
part of the helmet. It can be activated in the completely open or closed
position bu using a comfortable and practical snap lever. It also can
be activated while wearing gloves.
Back Spoiler:
The new polycarbonate
back spoiler was tested and designed together with the APEX project in
the wind tunnel. The design shape moves the aerodynamic turbulence back
and away from the helmet, thereby eliminating head buffet at speed.
By exploiting the venturi effect and the particular shape of the internal
protection polystyrene, hte incoming airflow can easily be eliminated
thanks to the back exhaust ports.
Composite shell:
This is the strong
point of APEX: with this shell, SUOMY completely changed its production
process. The new and secret copmosites used, allows SUOMY to obtain a
lighter, tougher, and more protective shell!
The effort made by SUOMY in the past years, coupled with the desire to
continue producing its products in Italy, has been fully repaid: The "know-how"
of the research and development department allowed SUOMY to use a composite
(a mix of carbon with various weights/break loads and secret aramid composite)
that has made the shell very light, while at the same time more resistant
to certification crashes. Moreover, stiffening ribs were added, enhancing
the overall sturdiness of the shell while aesthetically giving the helmet
a great look and a "racing" edge. 'The APEX is a helmet for

Internal part:
The internal part
is completely made of the precious fabric COOLMAX ACTIVE:
* It moves away sweat
* Keeps rider fresh, dry, and completely comfortable
* Lightweight, soft, and breathable fabric
* performance controlled and certified by ADVASA
The cheek pads and
the internal comfort shell can be removed, washed, and replaced. The cheek
pads come in different thicknesses to meet all user sizes. |
